Invisalign is one of the world’s most popular teeth alignment treatments, favoured by over 22 million people worldwide. It’s not hard to guess why, given its impressive results and discreet removable aligner tray system.

But it’s not always the right treatment for every case, and there are numerous Invisalign alternatives for you to consider.

Angel Aligner

Angel Aligner is a brand of clear aligners that works similarly to Invisalign – you wear a series of custom-made removable aligners designed using a 3D scanner that gradually move and align your teeth.

They’re made from an anti-reflective frosted plastic designed to reduce reflection under light. This is why many consider Angel Aligner custom aligners to be less noticeable than Invisalign aligners in certain conditions.

You’ll wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day and only remove them for eating, drinking beverages other than water and brushing your teeth.

There are several systems within Angel Aligner. For example, there’s Angel Aligner Select for mild to moderate misalignment and the more advanced Angel Aligner Pro, designed for more complex cases, offering faster results.

Fixed metal braces

Traditional braces are a tried-and-tested teeth-straightening method that uses metal brackets and archwires bonded to your teeth to tackle complex alignment issues. They’re tightened every 6-8 weeks by your orthodontist, and treatment tends to last between 1 and 2 years.

As they can’t be removed by anyone other than a dental professional, you don’t need to worry about remembering to wear them – a big advantage if you’re worried about wear time.

Ceramic braces

Another Invisalign alternative is ceramic braces, which work just like metal ones. However, they offer an aesthetic advantage – the brackets are tooth-coloured, rather than metal, meaning they blend in and are more discreet.

Due to this advantage, this treatment tends to be more expensive than other options.

Which option is best for you?

Choosing your best Invisalign alternative depends on your alignment issues, the level of discretion you want and your budget.

Angel Aligner is the closest alternative to Invisalign as it’s a similar removable aligner system.

If you want a near-invisible option that is permanently fixed to your teeth so you don’t have to worry about wearing aligners, ceramic braces are the way to go, although they’re more expensive than other treatments.

If you prefer the idea of a fixed option but have a smaller budget and don’t care for aesthetics, metal braces are ideal.
