Tooth Extraction

Occasionally a tooth needs to be extracted due to excessive decay, trauma, or disease. At Kai Dental, we know patients are often anxious about Extractions, and only choose this procedure after all other options have been considered.

We understand your anxiety and will guide you through the process to ease your nerves, and can even offer sedation to ensure you are fully relaxed during the procedure.

After an extraction, you’ll deal with a few post-procedural changes.

Your Dentist will place a gauze pack over the extraction site to keep your bleeding to a minimum. This pack should be left over the site for approximately 45 minutes. Once you remove the pack, avoid swishing water around in your mouth as it could disturb the blood clot.

You should not experience much swelling or pain, but if you do, your Dentist will prescribe medication to control these symptoms.
